In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.
So reads the official plot synopsis posted on Coming Soon (via Kotaku). Is it just us, or could you simply replace "Los Angeles" with any other setting in any of the previous three films, and still describe those just as well?
Coming Soon also posted the rest of cast for the film, which includes Ali Larter, Spencer Locke, Wentworth Miller (who's supposedly playing Chris Redfield), Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Kim Coates, Norman Yeung, and Kasey Barnfield. Resident Evil: Afterlife is set for release next August, when it will probably be declared the last in the series, and then depending on how it does at the box office, will be followed by the announcement of a new sequel.
